100-year RI awarded to killer

MANSEHRA, Jan 10: Mansehra District and Sessions Judge Jehangeer Khan on Wednesday sentenced Mudaser Shah to 100-year imprisonment and fined him Rs200,000 for killing four persons.

Mudaser Shah s/o Sakhawat Shah of Makora (Tehsil Oghi), along with his father, had entered the house of Tahir Shah of Shadoor (Oghi) on Nov 25, 1998. He shot four persons— Gul Badshah, Dildar Shah, Akhtar Shah and Shabbier Shah— dead, and injured Asma Bibi and Hajra Bibi seriously and fled.

Later Oghi police, on the FIR of the Tahir  Shah,  arrested the killer and his father under sections 302, 324 and 34 and submitted challan with the district and sessions judge.

After listening the counsels of both the sides Mr Khan awarded four times   25-year imprisonment to the murderer and also fined him Rs 50,000, four times.   But his father was acquitted from the case.

If the convicted fails to submit Rs 200,000, which will distributed among the relatives of the four killed, then he will have to serve additional 16 months in jail.

Transfers, postings: The district government Mansehra, has decided to carry on the transfers and postings on the vacant posts in the district.

The decision was taken at a meeting held here on Wednesday, under the chairmanship of District Naib Nazim, Shazada Gushtasif Khan.

The  meeting urged upon the employees of the  district government to comply with the orders of the district government in this regard. It warned that disciplinary action would be taken against absentee government employees.
