KARACHI, Jan 9: The secretary general of Pakistan Tehrik-i- Insaf, Mairaj Mohammad Khan, has expressed concern over the reported statement of the commander of the US Central Command (Centcom), Gen Tommy Franks, that “Pakistan government has allowed the US forces to carry out military operations against the Al-Qaida Organization in Pakistan,” whereas the spokesman of the foreign ministry has denied any knowledge of the news.

In a statement issued here, Mr Khan warned that “if the government has allowed the American forces to operate in any part of Pakistan, then it has compromised on our national sovereignty and endangered our nuclear assets as well as the freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people.” “On whose side will the government stand? He asked and said that if it supports the US, then its position will be reduced to that of the former South Vietnamese puppet government, which sided with the US in the Vietnam War against its own people.”
