GUJRAT, Jan 7: The proceedings of the local district council on the second day could not be initiated on Monday due to incomplete quorum.

The council’s higher-ups had called a five-day session, the first day proceedings of which were postponed on Saturday when the opposition pointed out that the attendance in the house was less than required.

On day two, the convener cancelled the proceedings on the same issue. The opposition alleged the high-ups of the council had given priority to the members belonging to the ruling party.

Meanwhile, district council had allotted a special room which would be used by the opposition.
