HYDERABAD, Jan 7: Justice Musheer Alam of the Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, on Monday rejected the bail application of two accused in the international racket of Rs3 million dollars, allegedly taken away by some foreign and Pakistani nationals.
The case against them was lodged at the Hussainabad police station on April 7 after the racket came to the fore on April 3 when the office of Credit and Commercial International (CCI) was sealed by the police. Some people whose money had been taken away had filed constitutional petitions in the Sindh High Court, seeking registration of an FIR against the CCI men. The petition was allowed and then a number of cases were lodged.
Those who were nominated included Osama Rizvi, Talha Rizvi, Symon, and Hasham among others.
Two accused, Osama Rizvi and Talha Rizvi, filed their bail applications through a Karachi-based lawyer, Abdul Hameed Lakhani, whereas Advocate Ayaz Latif Palejo appeared on behalf of the complainant.
The defence counsel argued that his clients had got nothing to do with the FIRs lodged against them as they were falsely implicated in the case.
The complainant’s counsel argued that the accused were involved in four cases lodged against them at the Hussainabad police station as they had embezzled millions of rupees in Hyderabad.
Similarly, 70 million rupees of an investor of Karachi had also been gobbled up by the accused.
He stated that the accused in complicity with the police official had even threatened some of the affected parties at their homes that they should withdraw their cases.
The case in which their bail plea was rejected was lodged under sections 147, 148, 406, 420 and 506 PPC. Their co-accused included Najam Yusuf, Aal-e-Farooque, Hisham Rizvi, Patrick, Najeeb, and Sabih among others. Only Osama Rizvi and Talha Rizvi were arrested from Karachi and were sent to the Central Jail Hyderabad.
