QUETTA, Jan 3: The Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) on Wednesday claimed to have busted a gang of car lifters and recovered four cars stolen from Karachi.

CIA Superintendent of Police Qazi Hussain Ahmed told Dawn that three active members of a car-lifting gang had been arrested in a raid.

A CIA team, headed by DSP Sohail Sheikh, arrested the car lifters, identified as Javed Ahmed, Qasir Ali and Amiruddin, and recovered the cars from different areas of the city.

Police sources said the cars had been stolen from Karachi and brought to Quetta for sale.

A case has been registered and a special interrogation team has been constituted.
