KARACHI: Ban on police recruitment lifted


KARACHI, Jan 3: The Sindh government has lifted the ban on recruitment in the police department and started the recruitment process with immediate effect.

The ban had been imposed seven years ago as a result of which 4,500 posts are lying vacant.

The Sindh police department announced on Thursday that matriculate males and females, 18-30 years of age, might submit their applications for recruitment to District Police Officer of their respective district by Jan 8. They might contact the DPO concerned or the DIG Training office for further information.

At present, 1,370 vacancies exist in Karachi, 465 in Ghotki, 230 in Thatta, 201 in Mirpur Khas, 108 in Khairpur, 85 in Shikarpur and other districts.

Applications have been received for 1,500 vacancies of ASI through the Sindh Public Service Commission for which written examination will soon be held.—PPI
