Unbeaten 103 by Imran

LAHORE, Jan 2: An unbeaten century by Test reject  Imran Farhat helped defending champions Lahore Blues to 220 for three on a curtailed opening day against Lahore Whites in the Quaid-i-Azam Cricket Trophy Grade-I fixture at LCCA Ground Wednesday.

By close of play, Imran (103) and Zia-ur-Rehman (28) were batting together in an unbroken fourth wicket stand worth 61 runs in 43 minutes.

Imran’s 154-ball knock includes 14 fours in stay of 196 minutes.

Sent into bat after the match finall got under way after lunch due to fog, the Blues lost captain Saleem Elahi for a duck. But Imran and Hafiz Yawar overcame that setback by putting on 149 in 141 minutes before the latter was run out for a 143-ball 64.

Bazid Khan also perished without scoring when he was trapped LBW by off-spinner Farhan Rasheed.
