Man strangles wife

SANGHAR, Jan 1: A man killed his wife by strangulating her and buried the body claiming that it was a natural death.

The complainant, Bakhsh Ali Lund, a resident of Bhaji Mori village, told the Shahdadpur police that his sister, Soni, was married to Mehar Lund of the same village and two days ago he was informed that his sister had died of a heart attack. However, he further said that he learnt from the woman who performed the last religious rites that there were strangulation marks on her neck.

The police, after registering an FIR, sought permission for exhumation from the authorities concerned to ascertain the cause of her death.

While the woman’s husband told police that his wife had illicit relations with his brother and he killed her to save his family honour.

WOMAN KIDNAPPED: The Shahdadpur police have arrested a 14 year-old boy in lieu of his father, M. Ismail Khaskheli.

Mr Ismail, who is a father of seven children, abducted a woman, a mother of nine children, belonging to Khudabad Kapri village and took her to Quetta about seven months ago.

The husband of the woman lodged an FIR against the accused.

The police raided various places but failed to find him. and later arrested his son.
