Five prayer leaders held

FAISALABAD, Jan 1: A local police team on Tuesday claimed to have arrested five prayer leaders for flouting ban on use of loud-speakers and making provocative speeches.

On reports of the officials deputed outside all the mosques and imambargahs in plain clothes, area police booked the Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan city president Maulana Habib Ahmad, Jamia mosque Ghousia imam Ramzan Sialvi, Jamia mosque Noori, Sargodha Road, imam Maulana Zafar Iqbal, Jamia mosque Farooquia Rizvia, Naseerabad, imam Maulana Aslam Qadir and Jamia Mosque Rahmania, Chak 120-JB, imam Maulana Habibur Rahman, and arrested them for violation of rules.

Meanwhile special teams, comprising police personnel and officials of secret agencies, have reportedly been preparing lists of jihadi organization’s personnel.
