PESHAWAR, Jan 1: The NWFP minister for information and education, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani, has assured that efforts would be made to make Sayurj Public School, Chitral, a self-sustained and viable institution enabling it to better serve the people.

While talking to the DCO Chitral, Sikandar Qayyum, who is an ex-officio chairman of the executive committee of the school at his office, Gilani appreciated the performance of the school and its principal Langsland’s role. He agreed with the DCO’s proposal to improve the institutional structure of the school by framing bylaws, strengthen its executive committee, and activating its board of governors.

As chairman of the board of governors of the schools, Gilani supported the idea of housing the school in a single premises and creating an endowment fund for its financial independence. He also appreciated the efforts of the DCO, Chitral in this regard.—APP
