PESHAWAR, Jan 1: National Awami Party Pakistan (NAPP) on Tuesday asked the interim Afghan government to concentrate on restoring peace and normalcy so that convening of Loya Jirga to decide the future of the country could be made possible.
“Restoration of peace is a must to ensure a free, independent and economically stable Afghanistan and that would also pave way for convening a meaningful Loya Jirga to discuss the future of the war-ravaged country,” NAPP Information Secretary Shakir Buneri said in a press release issued here.
Reiterating the party’s stand on the Afghan crisis, he said the NAPP was against terrorism and extremism.
Mr Buneri said that National Awami Party Pakistan wanted a stable and economically independent Afghanistan that should be free of foreign interference.
About the reports about NAPP’s joining an alliance of political parties, the press release confirmed that the party was in touch with the Awami National Party.
