Pakistan, India trade fire

NEW DELHI, Dec 30: Pakistani and Indian forces exchanged fire on Sunday along the Line of Control (LoC), the United News of India (UNI) said.

Quoting Indian military sources, the agency said the Pakistan Rangers fired heavy machineguns and tracers at Indian outposts in the Akhnoor, Samba and Ranbir Singh Pura sectors. India’s Border Security Force sources told UNI in occupied Jammu that the Rangers had targeted BSF bunkers and nearby villages for about two hours early on Sunday morning.

The BSF personnel manning the outposts returned fire. Three houses in Bengalar village caught fire when tracers hit them, killing five buffaloes and setting haystacks ablaze, UNI said.—dpa
