TAMPA (Florida), Dec 30: Red-hot Glen Murray scored 2:34 minutes into overtime after collecting two assists as the Boston Bruins ran their win streak to five games with a 5-4 triumph over the Tampa Bay Lightning Saturday.
One night after posting a career-best five points, Murray got a pass from P.J. Axelsson at the right faceoff dot and sent a wrist shot over goaltender Nikolai Khabibulin to put Boston atop the Northeast Division, one point above Toronto.
Defenseman Nick Boynton, Axelsson and Bill Guerin also scored for the Bruins, who got 24 saves from backup goalie John Grahame.
Sidelined since mid-November with a nagging hip injury, Lemieux said he felt “great” after a lengthy workout hours before the game.
Pittsburgh has just one win in its last nine games (1-6-2) and is last in the Atlantic Division.
Montreal — which had scored three times in its previous four games — stormed back from a 5-1 deficit with four unanswered goals, including two by Richard Zednik.
But Yashin ended the Islanders’ four-game winless streak against the Canadiens.
In Los Angeles, the New York Rangers played without Eric Lindros but continued to roll on their six-game road trip, getting goals from five different players for a 5-4 victory over the Kings.
Lindros sat out for precautionary reasons one night after missing the final two periods of a win at San Jose. The team is not sure when the hit occurred but is taking no chances with Lindros, who has had six concussions in his career.
Saturday’s results (home team in CAPS):
Boston 5 TAMPA BAY 4 (OT)

Buccaneers rout Ravens: The Tampa Bay Buccaneers sacked Elvis Grbac four times and intercepted him twice in a 22-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens in National Football League Saturday.
The Buccaneers (9-6) followed the recipe Baltimore used to win the Super Bowl last season, using a smothering defense, big plays on special teams and just enough offense to win.
A blocked punt by tight end Todd Yoder in the second quarter set up Doug Brien’s go-ahead 24-yard field goal and quarterback Brad Johnson scored on a one-yard keeper, one play after linebacker Derrick Brooks returned an interception 53 yards.
Mike Alstott rumbled 32 yards for the clinching touchdown with 1:35 remaining. He carried 14 times for 80 yards.
