Fog claims three lives in D.I. Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 30: Thick fog claimed three lives and causing injury to many on Sunday morning. Traffic was almost non-existent and a number of accidents were reported from all over the district due to fog not seen since in last so many years.

Shahid Saleem (19), a young motorcyclist, died when his motorbike skidded off the road and collided with a roadside tree near village Thathal.

In an accident on Paroa road, six persons, Ghulam Hussain (36), Sultan (47), Mohammad Ramzan (27), Niamatullah (28), Khan Zaman (39) and Malik Ismail alias Billa (35), were injured when a Datsun pickup coming from Paroa collided with a 10-wheeler and a bus. In the accident, Datsun was badly damaged. One Sultan died on the spot while Ismail and Khan Zaman were in critical condition.

A Mazda pickup collided with a donkey cart near village Khutti on Daraban Road. Inayatullah (29) and Khayal Muhammad (70) were severely injured.

A Bannu-bound flying coach (No. BUC-2125) ran over an 8-year-old boy Abdur Rauf near Yark. The boy was brought to the hospital in unconscious condition.

In a collision between a bus and a flying coach near Pai (Dist Tank), Nuran Bibi (52) and Shad Begum (34) were injured.

Another motorcycle also hit a bridge side on Panyala Road. Pillion rider Rehmatullah died of head injury whereas Abdul Majeed was admitted to neuro-surgical ward.
