KARACHI: Edhi Foundation gets donation


KARACHI, Dec 30: The Pakistani community living in Scotland has donated an ambulance and 10,000 pounds to Edhi Foundation.

The donation was handed over to Faisal Edhi by Federal Minister for Law and Human Rights, Barrister Shahida Jamil, here on Saturday.

Barrister Shahida Jamil praised the overseas Pakistanis for their contribution and welfare work in their home country.

She said the government has chalked out various socio- development projects for the welfare of the people.

However, she said the role of non-government organizations in socio-economic development could not be neglected.

Provincial Minister Abdul Hafiz Shaikh said the Sindh government was giving top priority to development of social sector.

The representative of Pakistani community in Scotland, Dr Asif, also spoke on the occasion.—APP
