Sudan suspended indefinitely

NAIROBI, Dec 28: The Council of East and Central African Football Associations has suspended Sudan indefinitely for not participating in its competitions or paying subscriptions for the last three years.

CECAFA President Farah Addo told a news conference in the Kenyan capital late on Thursday that Sudan had not even responded to correspondence from the council for the last three years.

“Under those circumstances, we have no choice but to ban them indefinitely,” Addo, a Somali citizen, said.

Addo also said Kenya had been given 12 days to pay $16,000 owed to CECAFA, otherwise club sides Tusker FC and Oserian Fastac would not be allowed to take part in the East and Central African Club Cup tournament in Zanzibar in February.
