HYDERABAD, Dec 28: With Quaid-i-Azam Trophy Grade-I just four days away it is still not clear which team would represent Hyderabad.

The cricketers of the city were running from pillar to post to get it confirmed whether Hyderabad would be playing Grade-I Trophy matches.

Mir Rafiq Talpur on Dec 24 had dissolved the DCA Hyderabad and appointed a 6-member ad hoc body, levelling serious allegations against Secretary of DCA, Mahboob Alam Sherwani.

It was also not known whether the PCB also endorsed the dissolution of DCA.

The Chairman Cricket Management Committee of Pakistan Cricket Board, Mr. Iqbal Qasim told Dawn over phone that he was unable to confirm which team would represent Hyderabad.

As far as the secretary of defunct HDCA Sherwani, is concerned, he claimed that the team selected by him in consultation with Mirza Faheem Baig, Mubarak Ali Meo, Arshad Qazi and Moeen Rajput would represent Hyderabad because he had received cheque of Rs96,000 from the PCB for arranging five Trophy matches.

MATCH SHIFTED: Poor condition of the Niaz Stadium has forced the PCB to shift Quaid-i-Azam Trophy opener between Hyderabad and Bahawalpur to Bahawalpur.

“Due to substandard conditions of Niaz Stadium, Hyderabad, the Quaid-i-Azam Trophy match, scheduled to be played between Hyderabad and Bahawalpur between Jan 2 and 5 has been shifted to Bahawalpur Stadium, Bahawalpur,” PCB said in a statement.
