LAHORE, Dec 26: Thick fog on Wednesday virtually closed the Lahore airport as all outgoing and incoming flights were suspended from 7pm to 10am on Thursday.
It is learnt that 10 flights including five international flights’ departure were cancelled while six flights including two international flights’ arrival was suspended.
According to reports available at 12 midnight, PK-247 flight’s departure for Dammam was delayed from 8:15pm to 10am on Thursday. The PK-229 and Aero Asia’s RSO-422 flights for Masqat scheduled at 9:30pm and 10:40pm were delayed till 10am and 11:30am, respectively, on Thursday.
Similarly, PK-723 flight for Manchester and Toronto was delayed from 12:45am on Thursday to 11:30am on Thursday. The PK-725 flight for Riyadh was delayed from 12:15am on Thursday to 1:30pm on Thursday.
On domestic routes, PK-610 flight for Peshawar delayed from 7pm to 10am on Thursday, PK-307 flight for Karachi delayed from 9:30pm to 1:15pm on Thursday, PK-413 flight for Karachi delayed from 10:30pm to 11:30am on Thursday, Shaheen Airline’s NL-044 flight for Karachi delayed from 1:30am on Thursday to 11:30am, and PK-356 flight for Islamabad delayed from 7:30am to 11:30am on Thursday.
According to the arrival schedule, PK-262 flight from Abu Dhabi and PK-704 flight from Manchester and New York were delayed from 8:40pm and 10:45pm till 10:50am and 11:45am, respectively, on Thursday.
On domestic routes, PK-306 flight’s arrival from Karachi was delayed from 8:15pm to 11:15am on Thursday. Aero Asia’s 128, PK-316 and Shaheen’s NL-043 flights’ arrival from Karachi scheduled at 9:40pm, 10:45pm and 12:30am was delayed till 10:30am, 11:45am and 11:30am, respectively, on Thursday.
The PIA officials also claimed that the delayed schedule of several other flights was still unknown because several flights were scheduled to reach their domestic and international destinations and then return while taking passengers.
They also claimed the delayed timings could still be changed.
