DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Support to dist Nazim withdrawn

By Our Correspondent

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Dec 26: Gandapur and Makhdoom groups have decided to withdraw their support to District Nazim Latifullah Khan (Alizai) after the resolution of his dispute with Miankhel Group.

Alizai and Miankhel groups had formed an alliance to contest the local bodies elections, but after winning the polls their cooperation fell apart over the dispute of utilizing funds. Then an another alliance was constituted comprising Alizai, Gandapur and Makhdoom groups.

In a statement issued here on Monday, Council No3 Nazim Sardar Fazal Ahmad Khan alias Addal Sadozai said that Nazims and deputy Nazims of his group were not bound to follow the terms and conditions of the new agreement between Miankhel and Alizai groups.

The pact focused on personal interests of their leaders who were playing with their supporters’ sincerity, he added.

Fazal Ahmad said that his group did not want to put its future at stake for the vested interests of Miankhels and Alizais.

Sardar Ikramullah Khan Gandapur and his younger brother Sardar Israrullah Khan Gandapur, Tehsil Nazim ,Kulachi, have also expressed their resentment over the revival of former alliance without taking into confidence the others in Alizai Group. Latifullah Khan from Alizai group and Inayatullah Khan from Miankhel group had won the seats of Nazim and deputy Nazim respectively.

A new alliance was formed comprising Alizai, Makhdoom and Gandapur groups against Miankhel Group. And the alliance okayed the budget with majority.
