PESHAWAR: Quaid’s birth anniversary observed

PESHAWAR, Dec 26: The Jamal English Academy, Peshawar, observed the birth anniversary of the founder of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, with due devotion and fervour.

According to a press release issued here on Wednesday, an impressive ceremony was held in connection with the Quaid’s birth anniversary in the academy premises which was attended by a large number of students and teachers. The director general of the academy, Brigadier (retd) Ajmal Khan, was the chief guest and distributed prizes among meritorious students who secured first three positions in the annual examination.

On this occasion children highlighted the achievements of Quaid-i-Azam by presenting tableau, national songs and speeches and paid rich tributes to the father of the nation.

SUPPORT ASSURED : A Jirga of Bijzai and Khwaizi tribes of the Mohmand Agency on Wednesday assured administrative authorities of full cooperation and assistance for the deployment of army units along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

This assurance was given by the elders of the tribes when they called on Mohmand Agency Political Agent Dr Hamad Owais.

They said the presence of the units of the army, the Frontier Corps and the Militia would strengthen security along the border and check the entry of terrorists into the tribal areas.
