Published December 25, 2001

RAMALLAH, Dec 24: Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat confirmed he would not be able to attend Christmas mass in Bethlehem because of an Israeli ban. In a speech on Palestinian television and radio on Monday, Arafat called the ban a crime depriving him of his right to participate in the commemoration of the messenger of peace and a crime preventing his Christian brothers to exercise their religious rites at the holy sites.—AFP
