Nine houses gutted

KHAIRPUR, Dec 24: Nine houses were reduced to ashes by fire in two separate incidents in two villages of taluka Nara on Sunday night.

The houses of Bero Mal, Saghano Mal, Sighno Mal, Sultan Mal, Pehelwan Mal, Toto Mal, and Ranjho Mal were set ablaze by some villagers in village Wahid Bukhsh Bhambhro near Nara gate.

The owners of the houses said that their valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees including cash were burnt.

In other incident, two houses belonging to Nawaz Machhi and Gul Hassan Machhi caught fire in which their valuables were reduced to ashes in village Jam Mohammad Rajar.

ACCIDENTS: A motorcyclist identified as Ata Mohammad Khoso died while another named Syed Roshan Shah was seriously injured as their motorcycles collided head on near Pir Wassan on Nawabshah-Khairpur road on Monday.

A cyclist, Mohammad Ibrahim Kangro, died after being hit by a trailer at village Jam Noorullah Kindyaroo.
