KHAIRPUR, Dec 23: An eight-year-old land dispute between the Mangnejo and Narejo tribes was settled in the circuit house, Khairpur, on Saturday.

The dispute over 500 acres of land in Kot Mir Muhammad, Kingri Taluka, was decided in a Jirga which was headed by Aftab Shaban Mirani, the district Nazim, Nafisa Shah, and Siraj Durrani.

It was decided that the Mangnejos would present government records of the land in Deh Ulra and Deh Bandhi for the period before 1993. The current produce would be taken by the Narejos.

However, the issue of cultivated wheat would be decided later.

It was also decided that no group would cultivate the crop till the land was divided among the groups on Jan 1, 2002 by the committee constituted by the Jirga.

The Mangnejos were represented by Raja Khan, Ghazi Khan, Mir Manzoor Panhwar and Khuda Dino Khan, while the Narejos were represented by Amin Azhar, Khan Kamario and Karim Jatoi.

NAZIM: The district Nazim, Malik Asad Sikandar, claimed that unemployed graduate and under-graduate youths would be appointed in multinational companies like the BHP and LASMO.

He said this while talking to the Nazims, NGO workers, journalists and citizens at his residence on Sunday.

He claimed that he had talked to senior officials in the BHP and LASMO who had assured him that the youths would be provided jobs.
