Two shot dead in ‘encounter’

SUKKUR, Dec 23: Two dacoits were killed in an encounter with police near Thul on Sunday.

The villagers of Gul Baig Sharif informed the DSP, Thul, Shamim Ahmed, that three armed dacoits had been seen riding motorcycles in the area.

The DSP immediately rushed to the site along with a heavy contingent of police including the SHO, Garhi Hasan police station. The dacoits on seeing the police opened fire. The latter retaliated.

The shooting continued for half an hour. Two dacoits, Misry Bux Banglani and M. Panah Lashari, were killed. The third dacoit, Eid M. Banglani, Misry’s brother, managed to escape.

Two Kalashnikovs and bullets were recovered from their possession.
