MANSEHRA, Dec 23: For the 30 pending development schemes of the district, an estimated amount of Rs55.382 million has been issued/released under the social action programme (SAP), Dawn has learnt through reliable sources.
According to sources an amount of Rs55.382 million was earmarked, in the budget of the fiscal 2001-2002, for the 30 pending schemes of drinking water, sanitation, social welfare, building and housing of the district Mansehra, in the social action programme. Ironically, even after such a long-time the amount has not been released to the district.
Sources said that the amount has now been released to the district government, and work on the remaining portions of the these schemes will start within a week.
About 8.55km road from Narain to Saiful Maluk lack will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs39.916 millions.
The child deaf and dumb centre will be rehabilitated at an estimated amount of Rs0.55 millions on the existing tehsil buildings of the Balakot. It will cost Rs6.653 million.
The people of Mansehra city will be provided drinking water schemes at a cost of Rs1.404 million. The remaining portion of the district jail will be completed at Rs44.2 million.
The improvement and widening of the Baffa Doraya Ichrian Road would cost Rs11.974. And the Pulra to Darband Road will cost Rs53.226. Sources said work on 22 schemes of the water supply will also be completed from the amount of Rs 55.382.
