SOA suspension

KARACHI, Dec 22: The city government has been approached regarding the organization of Quaid-i-Azam sports festival. The event is being staged by a suspended Sindh Olympic Association (SOA).

“This is to bring to your kind notice that the suspended SOA and its acting President Fakir Ayazuddin has been creating an impression that the Quaid-e-Azam Sports Festival, Karachi, 2001, is being organized by them.”

Honorary secretary of the Sindh Judo Association (SJA) Syed Wasim Hashim wrote a letter to Karachi City Nazim Naimatullah Khan in a letter copy of which was made available here Saturday.

“The fact of the matter that SOA was suspended for misconduct by Pakistan Olympic Association and matter is in the court and status quo prevails,” it said.

“As the SOA officials are suspended and as the matter is in the court which has passed the orders of status quo, it would be against justice to give suspended SOA and its office bearers, responsibility for organization of this event,” he added.—APP
