Dacoits kill youth


SIALKOT, Dec 22: A youth was shot dead while his uncle was injured seriously by five dacoits in Dhaamiyaan village of Daska tehsil late on Friday night.

According to the FIR, Tariq, Maroof, Waheed, Fauji and Farooq forced their entry into the house of a landlord, Akbar Ali Olakh. They held the family hostage at gunpoint and started looting. The dacoits shot and injured Tanvir Abbas and his uncle Arif Husain when they put up resistance. The injured were brought to the Daska Civil Hospital where Tanvir succumbed to his injuries. The condition of Arif was stated to be critical.

No arrest has so far been made.

GANGS BUSTED: The Qila Kallarwala police claimed to have arrest 11 members of four inter-district gangs of dacoits, including four proclaimed offenders, besides recovering looted goods worth Rs2 million, illicit arms, two cars and four motorcycles.

This was stated by Sialkot SSP Muhammad Tahir while talking to the newsmen, here, today.

The SSP said police have also arrested Constable Umar Draz of the CIA for sheltering the proclaimed offenders. —Correspondent
