LAHORE: PPP meeting on Jan 2

Published December 23, 2001

LAHORE, Dec 22: The Punjab council and the provincial executive committee of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) will meet here on Jan 2.

According to Punjab PPP president Qasim Zia, both the bodies will discuss current political situation in the country, besides reviewing the party’s preparation for the next general elections.

Matters and strategies to mobilize the party workers for the elections would also be on the agenda of the meeting, he added.

The party has almost completed its re-organization phase in the Punjab as new nominations to the district and tehsil offices have been made.

The PPP has already launched its ‘mass contact’ campaign as, after holding workers’ conventions at divisional level, it is now organzing these meetings at district level. One such meeting is being held at Mandi Bahauddin on Dec 24 which will also be attended by the provincial leadership. — Staff Reporter
