BANGALORE, Dec 21: Match referee Denis Lindsay warned India and England on Friday to play the game in the right spirit following the on-field row between Sachin Tendulkar and Nasser Hussain on Thursday.

“The match referee had an informal meeting with the captains and coaches of both teams, warning them to play the game in the spirit of cricket,” said a joint statement from South African Lindsay and India’s national cricket board.

“The two captains (are) to be totally responsible for the actions of the players,” it added.—Reuters
