Police fail to recover body

By Our Correspondent

MARDAN, Dec 21: Mardan police had no clue on Friday to the disappearance of the body of a local spiritual leader from his grave.

Police said that unidentified people exhumed the remains of Pir of Tariq Colony, Pir Abdur Rahim Babajee, who died in May this year.

According to the caretaker of the grave, Afzal Khan, some armed men entered his room on Thursday night adjacent to the grave, tied him up with a rope and made him unconscious by using an injection.

He further said that early in the morning a servant waked him up and informed him of the disappearance of the Pir’s body from the grave.

He said that the thieves left behind a written note on the tomb saying the body needed to be shifted to some clean place.

Police said they had constituted a committee to investigate the matter.
