KARACHI: Centre urged to allow provinces to collect octroi

KARACHI, Dec 21: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s coordination committee has urged the centre to give right of octroi tax collection to provinces to save the future of local bodies employees.
In a statement on Friday, the committee said following a PML government decision of not allowing the provinces to collect octroi tax, the government of Sindh was faced with financial crisis and was finding it difficult to pay salaries to the people employed with the local bodies.
