VEHARI, Dec 20: Four dacoits looted Rs0.5 million in cash and also kidnapped a youth for ransom at Rango Khan, Kehror Pacca.

The outlaws burst into Alam Khan Baloch’s house, made the inmates hostage at gunpoint and scooped Rs500,000 in cash and other valuables. They also took away Alam Khan’s elder son Shah Jehan and a motorbike (3323-MNO). Alam said the dacoits had demanded Rs0.5 million ransom for the release of his son.

Police are going into the matter.

Meanwhile, the same dacoits took away cash, valuables and a motorcycle and shot dead a man on resistance at Chowk Mishi Khan, Kehror Pacca.

Armed dacoits barged into the house of Haji Fateh Khan, held the inmates hostage and started collecting cash and valuables. The intruders shot dead Haji Fateh for raising an alarm. Later, they made away with cash, valuables and a motorcycle.

Saddar police are investigating the matter.

LOOTED: Seven unidentified robbers looted 32 persons in Nawabpur area in the Multan district during the last 24 hours.

The highwaymen set up a picket on the Nawabpur Road and deprived the passers-by of cash, ornaments and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. They also took away vehicles, including a car and three motorcycles. The robbers also thrashed severely some people for putting up resistance.

Police are investigating on the complaint of Hanif and Ashraf.
