CJ acting president

ISLAMABAD, Dec 20: The chief justice of Pakistan, Justice Irshad Hasan Khan, will be the acting president from Thursday (Dec 20) till the return of President Gen Pervez Musha-rraf from his official visit to China.

This is the third time when the CJ is acting as the president. Justice Mohammad Bashir Jehangiri, senior judge of the Supreme Court, was sworn in as the acting chief justice. The oath was administered by Justice Mohammad Farooq.

Justice Jehangiri will be the chief justice as long as Justice Irshad Hasan Khan performs the functions of the acting president.
