SUKKUR, Dec 19: A married woman and a man were axed to death over Karo-kari in Lundi Thori village, near Khanpur Mahar, on Tuesday.

Unidentified men killed a woman, Momal, wife of M. Saleh, and Amir Bux (25).

An FIR was lodged against Asghar Ali Gabol, Aziz Gabol, and Ali Sher Gabol. While another was lodged against Hakeem Gabol, Hazaro Gabol, and A. Bachayo Gabol.

DACOIT KILLED: A dacoit, Karim Dino, was killed and two others were arrested following an encounter with a police party in the Rohri sub-division on Tuesday night, police sources claimed on Wednesday.

They told newsmen that Pervez Ahmed Panhwar, a resident of the area, had called Rescue 15 to inform about the presence of dacoits in a village along the belt of the Indus.

When a police party raided the area, the dacoits opened fire. The police retaliated as a result of which one, Karim Dino, was killed.

After about 30 minutes, the police succeeded in arresting two dacoits— Mumtaz and Ghulam Sarwar Metlo.

The police recovered two Kalashnikovs, a 7-mm rifle, and 160 bullets from their possession.—Correspondent
