Jaish chief refutes Indian allegations

BAHAWALPUR, Dec 19: Jaish Muhammad chief has said that no member of Lashkar-i-Taiba or Jaish Muhammad was involved in the attack on Indian parliament on Dec 13.

Speaking at an Eid congregation at Satellite Town, commercial area, Maulana Masood Azhar criticized the government’s Afghan policy.

He condemned America and its allied forces for bombing Afghanistan.

He said that America, India and Israel were pursuing identical policies against Muslim countries.

Maulana Azhar urged the Muslims to participate in Jihad. He prayed for the liberation of Kashmir and Palestine.

24 injured: Twenty-four passengers were injured in two road accidents here on Tuesday night.

Fifteen people were injured when a speeding bus (GAH 1790), going to Yazman from Lahore, overturned near Chak No 43/DB.

Yazman police registered a case against the bus driver who escaped from the scene.

Nine passengers were injured when a wagon (BRE 4662) overturned while going to Multan from Bahawalpur owing to failure of its tie-rod.

Six of the injured were admitted to BVH.

SUCCUMB TO BURNS: Four workers who were injured when the boiler of Ashraf Sugar Mills, Bahawalpur, exploded last week, died at the BVH on Monday.

The bodies were handed over to the families.

EID: Eidul Fitr was celebrated with religious fervour.

The biggest Eid congregation was held at Markazi Eidgah.

Strict security measures had been taken to avoid any untoward incident on Eid day.
