Three hurt in Indian firing

MUZAFFARABAD, Dec 19: At least three people were injured in intense Indian shelling from across the Line of Control (LoC) on Tuesday evening, an official said on Wednesday.

The Superintendent of Police, district Bhimbher, Tariq Ajmi, told Dawn by telephone that the Indian shelling started at about 4pm and continued till 5pm.

The shelling, he added, resumed at 6:10pm and ended after an hour.

As a result, two men, identified as Haji Makhan, 90, son of Kala Khan; and Mian Kala, 55, son of Sain Qureshi, were injured in Kotli Khumbah village, Mr Ajmi said .

In another unprovoled shelling, Naseem Akhtar, wife of Mohammad Sadiq, was injured in Danna village, he added.
