Papers about WMD found, says Rumsfeld

KABUL, Dec 16: US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said on Sunday that “significant” documents were found during a search for evidence that Osama’s fighters may have been developing weapons of mass destruction (WMD).

During the flight to Afghanistan, Rumsfeld said US special forces had found documents at a site near Kandahar called Tarnak Farms.

He said the site was among a list of 25-30 to be investigated for any evidence of efforts to develop chemical, biological or radiation weapons.

“It’s one (site) that has been on our list from the beginning. It’s one they have recently got access to, and... the take from it was particularly large and significant,” Rumsfeld said.
