KARACHI: PMA election on 23rd

KARACHI, Dec 16: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Karachi, is holding biennial election on Dec 23 in accordance with the PMA constitution, says a press release.

The executive committee of the PMA, Karachi, decided to delay the election for three days because of Eid holidays.

The last executive committee meeting scrutinized the candidates for the posts of office-bearers and the member of executive committee. The executive committee also appointed Dr S.M. Monis as chief returning officer and also appointed a team to assist Dr Monis.

The team comprises Dr Aman, Dr Aziz Khan Tank, Dr Khawja Sharif and Dr Kaleem Butt. The scrutinized voting list after the approval of the executive committee was displayed on the notice board.

The election will be held on Dec 23 from 9am to 5pm. The following candidates will contest the election: Dr Haseeb and Dr Jabbar Khattak for president; Dr Arshad Malik, Dr Amin Gadit and Dr Sohail Sehto, Dr Suleman Odho for senior and junior vice president; Dr Habib-ur-Rehman Soomro and Dr Naseer Baluch for general secretary; Dr Nighat Shah and Dr Mujtaba Memon for finance secretary; Dr A.R. Jamali, Dr Sikander A. Memon and Dr Jawaid Badwi for joint secretary; Dr Mirza Ali Azhar and Dr Tajamul Baig for Editor Urdu Journal; Dr Aisha Mehnaz and Dr Amjad Seraj for Editor English Journal; Dr Usman Akhter and Dr Suneel Kumar for librarian.

The PMA has also urged people to donate iron tablets and anti-biotics for Afghan refugees, particularly women.
