Bukhari condemns attack on parliament

NEW DELHI, Dec 15: The Imam of Jama Masjid, Syed Ahmed Bukhari, on Friday condemned the terrorist attack on Parliament House, but regretted the fact that whenever there was such an incident, the Muslim population of the country was looked upon with suspicion.

Delivering the Friday sermon, Imam Bukhari said whenever there was a terrorist attack in the country, the Muslims were forced to produce certificates proving their loyalty to the country.

“Someone else indulges in these activities, and the finger is pointed at the Muslims.”

He said the Muslims were the sufferers in such situations. “We might differ with the government on several issues, but when the question of national security and integrity arises, we stand united with the rest of the nation,” he said.—APP
