ALGIERS, Dec 15: Opec chief and Algeria’s Energy Minister Chakib Khelil hailed on Saturday what he described as the cooperative spirit between Opec and non-Opec members as they sought to stabilise crude prices, the APS news agency said.
“There is a good spirit of cooperation between Opec and non-Opec members...The declaration of Russia’s Prime Minister in Caracas and the decision taken by Angola to reduce its production are encouraging,” the APS quoted Khelil as saying.
He also confirmed that an extraordinary meeting of Opec members would be held in Cairo on December 28, to discuss the production level from January 1, 2002 and how to ensure the stability of oil prices in international markets, APS added.
