KARACHI, Dec 14: The Railway administration has increased the period for reservation of seats and berths in all the trains from existing 15 days to 30 days.

People intending to undertake journey to upcountry destinations, can now book their seats 30 days in advance.

This order issued from Railway Headquarter Lahore, will be effective with immediate effect.

It may be mentioned here that earlier the railway had enhanced the reservation period from 15 to 30 days in October last year, but later the decision was withdrawn in April this year.

The decision is presumably taken to curb the black-marketing of tickets.

However, in Karachi Railway Division, the menace of black-marketing of tickets has been effectively controlled.—APP
