Three customs officials held

NOWSHERA, Dec 13: Three officials of the custom mobile squad, Hassanabdal, were arrested by the anti-corruption police on charges of smuggling foreign cloth here on Wednesday.

Asghar Ali Saleem, inspector, Mukhtar Hassan, driver, and Zafarul Islam, were travelling in official vehicle (RIN 9759), which was filled with the cloth.

An FIR was registered at Nowshera Cantt police station by Inspector Sarbiland of the anti-corruption establishment.

Some high officials of the customs department have asked to release their officials but the anti- corruption officials have refused to release them. They have also taken the vehicle in their custody.
