Govt urged to fix honoraria for dist, UCs members

CHARSADDA, Dec 13: A session of the district council unanimously passed a resolution on Wednesday calling upon the government to fix some honoraria for the members of union, tehsil and district councils.

Presided over by Alamzeb Umerzai, the session was attended by the members of the district council and the Nazims of all the union councils of the district.

The council unanimously approved the honoraria fixed by the government for Nazims and Naib Nazims.

According to the honoraria, Zila Nazim and Naib Nazim would receive Rs12,000 and Rs10,000, Tehsil Nazim and Naib Nazim would get Rs10,000 and Rs7,000, while union council Nazim and Naib Nazim would get Rs5,000 and Rs2,000 per month, respectively.

While fixing the honoraria for the elected representatives, the resolution said, the government had ignored the members of union, tehsil and district councils.

The council formed various committees to monitor performance of various government departments.
