By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 13: Reckless driving claimed two lives in the city on Thursday.

A young man died while getting down from a recklessly-driven minibus in SITE. The police said that the young man was rushed to Civil Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.

An unidentified man was run over by an unknown vehicle in Karimabad in the night.

MOSQUE SEALED: After night-long clashes between two groups over the control of Bismillah Masjid at Jamila Street near Jubilee Cinema, the police sealed the mosque on Thursday morning.

The police also arrested 29 men from both the warring groups. In the clashes several people were injured, including a Sunni Tehreek leader, Iftikhar Bhatti.

Last year similar disturbances had occurred at the mosque, and the dispute was resolved by the area SDM by allotting equal time for the two groups to use the mosque.

On Wednesday night, one group overused its allotted time which sparked the clashes, a police spokesman said.

He said that in order to prevent law and order situation over the mosque issue, the police, in the presence of the judicial magistrate, South, sealed the mosque.
