Drug pusher held

NAWABSHAH, Dec 12: At least 60 kilogram of charas was seized and a drug peddler was arrested by excise intelligence, Sakrand near Sabu Rahu, Sakrand. On a tip-off, excise police stopped a car (ACZ-516) at Lashari bus stop near Sabu Raho, Sakrand.

On searching the car, 60 kg of charas was recovered from hidden places under the floor carpet.

The driver namely Haji Muhammad Naveed Anjum was arrested. It was said that Haji Muhammad Naveed Anjum, a resident of railway colony Peshawar, was smuggling the charas to Karachi.

A service card, found from his pocket, helped him identify as sub-engineer of communications and works department, Pesha-war. During initial investigations, it was confirmed that Haji stopped over at a destination in Punjab and Shikarpur.

Another registration book and number plate A-1148 (Peshawar) was also recovered.

Excise police have got remand of Haji Muhammad Naveed Anjum from Session Court, Nawabshah and challaned him under section 6-8-9/C of Narcotics Act 1997.
