Thieves take away Wapda wire

BAHAWALPUR, Dec 11: Thieves on Tuesday cut away an electricity wire worth hundreds of thousands of rupees in the Musafirkhana area, some 15km from here.

The rural areas surrounding the locality plunged into complete blackout following the incident.

Police have registered a case.

CASE: Yazman police on Tuesday registered a case against Ramzan alias Bhola for his attempt to criminally assault petitioner Halima of Chak 41-DB.

The case had been registered on the orders of Lahore High Court, Bahawalpur Bench, judge justice Akhtar Shabbir. Earlier, she had reportedly been denied the registration of case.

RELEASED: At least 30 prisoners involved in petty crimes were released from a borstal in Bahawalpur on Monday.

Their released followed the acceptance of bail applications by Bahawalpur district and sessions judge Chaudhry Badaruzzaman Chattha and Lodhran judge Khawaja Imtiaz Ahmad who visited the borstal the other day.
