KARACHI, Dec 11: IGP Sindh Syed Kamal Shah has urged the police officials to be more vigilant on Eid-ul-Fitr to avert any possible terrorist activity.
He was presiding over a meeting in his office here on Tuesday in which law and order situation and police reforms were discussed. The IGP expressed satisfaction over the law and order situation and decided to separate the watch and ward wing.
The meeting decided to constitute investigation teams, comprising inspectors, SIs and other staff, based on their ability and qualification.
The IGP said special arrangements would be made for protection of life and property of citizens travelling on highways.
In order to look into complaints against the police, the setting up of inquiry cells at range and district range level was also discussed in the meeting. The IGP informed the meeting that such inquiry cells would submit their report to CPO on a daily basis, which would be reviewed at weekly and monthly meetings and those showing poor performance would face a disciplinary action.
An inspection team at CPO would also be constituted which would check inspections and implementation of orders at district level, point out deficiencies and laxity which would attract punitive action.
