604 teachers appointed

By Our Correspondent

LARKANA, Dec 9: The Zila Nazim of Larkana Khursheed Junejo and Naib Nazim Nazir Ahmed Bughio on Saturday distributed offer orders amongst 604 primary school teachers, junior school teachers and high school teachers in the district assembly hall.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Junejo disclosed that soon 14 literacy centers — two in each taluka — would be established in the district and efforts would be put in to re-open and make functional all the closed schools.

He said teachers should be equipped with latest training so as to upgrade the standard of education.

The District Coordination Officer (DCO) Larkana, Muhammed Hashim Memon, recounted the sincere efforts of the former commissioner of Larkana Nazar Hussain Mahar who had really laid the foundation stone of anti-cheating drive in Larkana division with the sole aim of better and qualitative education.

The EDO Education Qazi Zamir said only 2200 candidates could qualify the written test for primary school teachers and after viva voce only 535 were declared successful. He was optimistic that with this recruitment majority of the closed schools could be made functional.
