Petrol outlet, vehicles looted

DADU, Dec 9: Armed robbers broke into the office of the manager of Bhitai petrol pump of former Sindh Chief Minister Liaquat Ali Khan Jatoi on Dadu-Larkana section of the Indus Highway, three kilometres away from Dadu town on Sunday, held the manager of the pump Dadan Chandio, and three other servants hostages at gunpoint, and robbed them of Rs50,000 cash.

The bandits thrashed the servants severely when they offered resistance and later escaped in a car.

The manager of the petrol outlet arrived at the Dadu town police station and informed the police about the robbery. Police raided various places and arrested suspects and were investigating.

ROAD BLOCKED: Over eight highwaymen blocked Thariri Mohabat- Butt Sirai link road near Mehar town late on Saturday night, 48 kilometres away from here.

They looted thousands of rupees cash, gold ornaments and other valuables from the passengers. Six passengers Safdar Ali Isran, Maqsood Isran, Rafique Isran, Asif, Manzoor and Abdul Rauf offered resistance and were severely beaten up. The highwaymen escaped with the loot.

SUICIDE: A big contractor of various government departments Mushtaque Ahmed 40, son of Juman Soho committed suicide by shooting himself to death with a gun in village Rahimdad Soho in taluka Mehar on Saturday night.

The body of the deceased was handed over to the parents of the deceased after autopsy in taluka hospital Mehar by Mehar police.

The cause of the suicide was stated to be some domestic problem.
