By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 7: Ten vehicles — five cars and an equal number of motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Friday, the police said.

Two cars were hijacked in Darakhshan. Three others were stolen in Clifton, Aziz Bhatti, and Samanabad.

The motorcycles were stolen in Clifton, Arambagh, Kharadar, Preedy, and Korangi.

The police also claimed on Friday to have recovered seven vehicles in the city.

ROBBERY: A robbery was committed on Thursday in the house of a senior journalist of an Urdu daily, Shabbar Aazmi, in Jamshed Quarters. The bandits got away with Rs100,000, prize bonds worth Rs50,000 and jewellery.

Four armed men barged into the house, held the family as hostage at gunpoint and got away with the loot.
